A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in Fredericksburg, Virginia partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor a local U.S. veteran with a grant. Along with a donation, the Fredericksburg branch held a residential housing “boot camp” to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.
The honoree at the Fredericksburg event was Staff Sergeant Joseph “Joe” Zujkowski, who served in the U.S. Army and was twice deployed to Iraq as an intelligence analyst. During his second deployment to Iraq, Zujkowski was wounded in combat and he later received a Purple Heart.
Zujkowski and his wife, who is also a veteran, have three children. Their son, Isaac, is five years old and has cerebral palsy. Through generous donations, Fairway and AWI were able to honor the Zujkowski family with a financial grant to help pay for a van that can more easily store Isaac’s wheelchair.
Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.
I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, please give me a call.Tags: Veterans
